The sudden and mysterious death of Sheryl Ohanga, a 22-year-old Moi University student, has left her family and university community in deep shock. Sheryl was dropped off unconscious at Nyamira County Referral Hospital on Monday morning by an unidentified individual and was pronounced dead on arrival.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Sheryl had traveled from Eldoret to visit her boyfriend,Cliff Ocharo, with whom she had been living in Kiong’ongi township,Nyamira County.
Her mother,Risper Kerubo Ohanga, expressed disbelief, saying she thought her daughter was still at school.Sources allege that Sheryl was thrown from a first-floor building during a house party at Cliff’s residence. The incident reportedly followed a heated argument after Cliff received a call from another woman. What began as a night of celebration ended in tragedy.
Described by friends as bright and ambitious, Sheryl’s life was cut short under unclear circumstances. Cliff, believed to hold key answers, is currently missing. Police have launched a manhunt and are appealing to the public for any information on his whereabouts.Sheryl’s body has been moved to the Nyamira County Referral Mortuary, with a postmortem pending to determine the exact cause of death.
As tributes pour in across social media, the family is calling for government intervention and justice for their daughter.Investigations are ongoing.
