President William Ruto has signaled a bold new political chapter after teaming up with KANU chairman Gideon Moi, launching a development-focused tour of Moi’s Baringo stronghold while issuing a stern warning to armed criminals.
Kicking off the visit with tough talk, Ruto declared that individuals illegally possessing firearms are on borrowed time. “Your days are numbered,” he warned, reaffirming the government’s unwavering commitment to national security. The tour comes just two weeks after a high-profile meeting between Ruto and Moi, sparking speculation of a budding political alliance ahead of the 2027 elections. The President hinted that the partnership could evolve into a broader coalition aimed at accelerating development and reshaping the political terrain.
While in Baringo, Ruto unveiled a series of infrastructure projects and pledged even more investment in the region. He also used the platform to drum up support for UDA’s senatorial candidate, Vincent Chemitei, signaling a strategic push to consolidate influence in the Rift Valley. The emerging Ruto–Moi alliance could prove pivotal in the run-up to 2027, blending political pragmatism with promises of progress in a region long marked by both potential and insecurity.
