ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna has said he will not work with President William Ruto, citing fundamental differences in political values and principles.Speaking during a public engagement, Sifuna dismissed speculation that he could collaborate with the Kenya Kwanza administration.
He said his position is based on principle and not personal animosity.”You will never see me working with Ruto. It is not because of hate, but because our morals are incompatible,” Sifuna said. The Nairobi senator said political leadership should be guided by integrity, accountability, and adherence to principles. He added that he remains committed to the values upheld by the opposition.
Sifuna’s remarks come amid continued political realignments and speculation over possible alliances ahead of the 2027 General Election, with several leaders weighing their political options.Despite reports of shifting political loyalties, Sifuna has maintained his support for the opposition, saying its agenda remains focused on issues affecting ordinary Kenyans.
His latest comments are expected to add to debate on the country’s evolving political landscape as parties position themselves ahead of the next general election.
