Coffee farmers started a day off with a joyous celebrations after receiving visitors with new goodies at Embu county they received training on pest control and management to avoid post harvest loses and enhance their production, the project was part of the Korea International corporation agency that will be rolled out to other counties in Kenya. Using coffee as a key player in the sector to attract more market opportunity.
Here the farmers were being equipped with the knowledge of soil fertility coffee planting nutrition and coffee cannon tree management believes that the coffee tree value chain can be improved as long as some aspect that affects the quality of coffee are addressed including; Harvesting at the right time , same day delivering to the factory and conducting color sorting before submission.
The farmers were being taught on the benefits of mulching to improve the process of decomposition
A process that will not affect the decomposing agents in the soil texture which will ensure great production of coffee the training comes timely when the production was low.
