The forecasted El nino rains from the third week of October as predicted by the weatherman are not
materializing ,and indeed president Ruto believes the prediction will be proven false .

Recent metrological department forecast aligns with the presidents claims as it indicates reduced rains
that doesn’t meet the standards of elnino rains. The weathermans new forecast different with the
august prediction.
Given the warning back then the national emergency response committee assembled uniting the
national and county government with key representation from ministries and stakeholders to put
forward the mitigation preparation to the counties.
The mitigation preparation for the rains had been put in place starting from mobilisation of funds from
county to national government , clearing drainages, relocation of residents from flood prone areas and
even marine transport in the city.
Amidst the confusion of El nino rains where some citizens have let their guards down compared to
before the second prediction the metrological department still warns citizens to maintain the
preparations in place just incase the rains takes another course as it is better to be safe than sorry.
