In a report released by the kenya red cross concerning the ongoing heavy rains,at least 52 people have died as more than 20,000 people displaced across the country in various regions.
The mostly affected parts are Riftvalley region,Western kenya and Eastern region where in the Riftvalley region it witnessed 15 fatalities,3 cases of injured people and 1,657 displaced people,in Western kenya 4 casualties were reported,4 injured people and 154 displacements where in Eastern region there are 10 fatalities,2 injuries,1 missing person and a staggering 2,190 people displaced.
Similarly,the Northeastern region has faced loss of 9 lives and 20,123 individuals displaced,Coast region has reported 3 fatalities and 174 displacements while Central kenya has reported 4 deaths and 1 displaced persin as in Nairobi 1 person died that has led to total of 56,549 individuals in kenya have been affected.
However,kenya has met the department that has since warned citizens on the rains that are expected to persist until January 2024 where it has to set measures to protect and provide for displaced residents.
