President William Ruto has warned young leaders against participating in succession politics particularly those from Mount Kenya region.
This comes when a section of leaders from mount Kenya region backing Kiharu member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro to succeed president William Ruto in future politics, the leaders include Murang’a senator John Nyutu and Gatanga legislator Edward Muriu accused Gachagua for failing to unite the mount Kenya region, deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has dismissed the claims, urging leaders to serve the people.
Members of the county assembly of Nyandarua who attended a meeting at Gachagua’s official residence in Karen Nairobi, expressed their support for Gachagua saying that Nyoro’s early succession politics is to divide the people of MT Kenya region.
However Kiharu Mp Ndindi Nyoro has remained silent saying that his task as the chair of National Assembly Budget Committee is to cater for the needs of all Kenyans, others who have been proposed to be Ruto’s running mates are interior cabinet secretary Kithure Kindiki, who happened to miss the seat in 2022 polls and Kirinyaga governor Ann Waiguru.
