President William Ruto who is the party leader of United Democratic Alliance party UDA chaired a meeting of the national steering committee which was to be conducted by the national executive committee NEC,the meeting resolved that elections will be done in four phases.
UDA secretary general cleophas Malala stated that the national steering committee was discussing to deliberate on the coming elections, as well as the constitution of relevant party organs.
UDA party chair Cecily Mbarire promised that the elections will be free and fair and that will be conducted in four phases,where by phase one involving seven counties on 26th of this month,the counties include,: Nairobi, Narok county,west Porkot,Busia county, Homabay, isiolo and Garissa county.
Phase two of the grassroots elections will take place in 2nd and twenty second june, covering 13 counties including Mombasa, Uasin Gishu county, Nyandarua, Tharakanithi, Machakos county,kisii, Bungoma county,Siaya, Taita Taveta, Wajir, Tana river county Kwale and Marsabit county.
While the third phase will combine Fifteen counties, including Kiambu county,Kericho, Embu county meru, migori county Kakamega, nyamira,Kitui,Elgeyo Marakwet county, Samburu, Kajiado,Mandera, Kilifi county Murang’a and Lamu county.
The last remaining counties will conduct it’s elections before 24th of august, among them include Nakuru county, Bomet county,Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Nandi county,Baringo, Turkana,Laikipia, Trans Nzoia,Kisumu, Vihiga and Makueni county.
UDA grassroots elections will be conducted by Anthony Mwaura as the chairperson, Veronica Kiberenge vice Chair,the team will have five other members.
Those appointed to solve disputes in the party are Joy Mdivo, chairperson,Dr Adrian Kamotho as the vice chair Narok county women representative Rebecca Tonkei has been tasked to resolve internal disputes in the party acting as the chairperson.
This will be the first elections conducted by united Democratic Alliance party UDA
