The drama between Jimi Wanjigi and police officers started in Nairobi CBD, the businessman joined the Gen z protests before he was blocked by the police men, who were dispersing other protesters by lobbying teargas.
The police started chasing Jimi Wanjigi’s car which was moving towards his Muthaiga home through Thika road, wanjigi managed to enter his compound leaving behind one of his car, that was among the convoy, Police men and DCI officers ,started conducting a forensic investigation, to the Wanjigi’s vehicle.
The acting inspector general of police Gilbert Masengeli, reported that one person was arrested, during the drama while teargas canasta found in Wanjigi’s car.
The officers ordered Wanjigi to surrender to the nearest police station as the family members saying it’s the first incident for them to be raided.
The abandoned Wanjigi’s vehicle was stalled by the police, as the remaining armed police officers waiting at Wanjigi’s home without success, appealing to businessman to surrender with immediate effect.
Now the Wanjigi’s family says they are obtaining all the CCTV footages to know who replanted the alleged teargas canasta in the abandoned Wanjigi’s vehicle.
