In a solemn and strategic exchange, Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, H.E. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, held a telephone conversation with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Mr. Landau on September 3rd, addressing the escalating security crisis in Haiti and Kenya’s pivotal role in the Multinational Security Support (MSS) Mission.
The call, which took place at 1715 hrs, was marked by condolences from Mr. Landau for the death of Corporal Kennedy Mutunga Muthwii, a Kenyan police officer who lost his life while serving in Haiti. Mr. Landau commended Kenya’s leadership and unwavering commitment to the MSS Mission, recognizing the country’s efforts alongside other contributing nations.
Dr. Mudavadi reaffirmed Kenya’s dedication to the humanitarian mission, emphasizing the need for robust international support and resources to ensure its success. “This is not just a peacekeeping effort—it’s a moral imperative,” he stated, underscoring the mission’s goal of restoring stability and hope to the Haitian people.

He expressed gratitude for the United States’ backing and called for continued collaboration, stressing the importance of a coordinated global approach. “Kenya remains steadfast in its support for Haiti, and Corporal Muthwii’s sacrifice will not be in vain,” Mudavadi concluded.
The conversation signals a deepening partnership between Kenya and the United States in addressing global security challenges, with Haiti now at the forefront of their shared humanitarian agenda.
