
President William Ruto’s development tour of Western Kenya entered its second day with a series of project launches aimed at transforming livelihoods across Bungoma and Kakamega counties.Joined by local leaders, the President unveiled investments spanning health, education, water, housing, agriculture, and infrastructure.
In Bungoma’s Mt. Elgon Constituency, he launched the Last Mile Electricity Connectivity Project, a KSh1.8 billion initiative set to connect over 25,800 households to power. He also opened the Cheptais Modern Market worth KSh185 million, and new classrooms at Toroso Primary School funded by Safaricom Foundation at a cost of KSh60 million.At Chwele in Kabuchai Constituency, Ruto inaugurated the Chwele-Kibabii Water Project, a KSh232 million investment benefiting 185,000 residents, alongside the Chwele Modern Market valued at KSh345 million.
In Kakamega County, he commissioned the Shirugu Water Supply and Sanitation Project in Malava Constituency, expanding access to clean water. He also handed over keys to more than 200 families at the Lurambi Affordable Housing Project in Milimani Estate, and laid the foundation stone for its second phase.
