Kenya’s dominance in the cross country was shown yet again in Hammamet Tunisia with able athletes securing gold medals in all categories except for the women’s under-20 where the best Kenyan participant Judy Chepkoech clocked 21:04 in sixth position.
In senior men’s Vincent Langat at 1st position clocked 28:32 and 2nd position was snatched by Naibei Kiplimo clocking 28:41. the same results were replicated in the senior women’s race with Cintia Chepngeno timing 32:32 followed by Virginia Nyambura collecting the silver medal by clocking 32:34. In men’s under-20 there was dominance by collecting all three medals.
A milestone for St Joseph Students in Sports.
St. Joseph High School in Kitale is laying ground to uplift students in the sporting arena by partnering with Montverde Academy in the United States of America, The two institutions have signed an agreement to train athletic students in various fields starting from hockey to basketball and indoor games. At the end of four years, able students will be sponsored to the States of America to continue with their studies.
Bukhungu renovations.Bukhungu Stadium is undergoing renovation as it will be hosting the CHAN tournament in September this year alongside Masinde Muliro Stadium in Bungoma County.
The officials are planning to finish the ongoing construction by July, allowing CHAN officials to inspect the readiness of the stadium before September matches.
