According to the kenya tea industry performance of 2023 the expansion of the overseas market and strength of the dollar have both contributed to a notable increase in the value of tea exports from kenya.The tea export performance in 2023 was 180.57B while 2022 was 138.09B.
In 2023 total amount of tea exported increased significantly from 450.33 million kilograms in 2022 to 522.92 million kilograms despite the weaker shillings at the time. This translates to 16% percent in tea export volume reaching 72.58 million bags. Tea performance according to exports in 2023 was 522M kgs while in 2022 was 450.33M kgs.
Kenyan exports tea exports to 92 countries recorded last year a growth in the market from the 82 countries in 2022. Pakistan being the top of exporters as well as Egypt, Yemen,Russia and Iran UK,UAE, were not left out in recording huge loads of tea exports.
