National government officials and high ranking county leaders together with religious leaders received president William Ruto at the Nakuru high school for a Korino national thanksgiving, the protocol was breeched after deputy president Rigathi Gachagua missed to welcome his boss at the event.
As the service went underway DP Gachagua arrived after the Head of state and the program was well and truly under way, Gachagua stood up to speak and then invite the president, was able to defend his late arrival at the service,
According to the second in command his lateness was due to two factors including transport arrangements.
Gachagua arriving late in Nakuru led to the change of sitting arrangements in the podium where by Nakuru governor Susan Kihika sitting next to president William Ruto.
Gachagua for the first time has put clear his transport situation in presidential events, during tree planting day, reports emerged of him also experiencing challenges of transport from accessing KDF chopper, it went on for the second in command to use a commercial chopper to attend this year’s Madaraka celebrations at Masinde Muliro stadium in Bungoma county
