The Western Region TVET Drama Festivals have successfully come to an end at Bungoma National Polytechnic after an engaging and vibrant three-day event. The festivals brought together students from various technical and vocational institutions across the region, all showcasing their creativity and talent through drama and stage performances.
Throughout the three days, participants presented a wide range of productions addressing social issues, cultural themes, and contemporary challenges. The performances were marked by originality, strong storytelling, and impressive stage coordination, earning praise from adjudicators and audiences alike.
The event also served as a platform for students to interact, exchange ideas, and learn from one another. Trainers and instructors commended the level of preparation and discipline displayed by the participants, noting significant growth in performance standards compared to previous years.
Adjudicators highlighted the importance of drama in shaping communication skills, confidence, and critical thinking among students in technical institutions. They encouraged participants to continue nurturing their talents alongside their academic and technical training.
Despite the overall success, a few challenges were reported during the festival. These included minor logistical delays and occasional scheduling conflicts, which were promptly managed by the organizing committee without major disruptions to the program.
Organizers expressed satisfaction with how the event unfolded, emphasizing that the challenges encountered provided valuable lessons for improving future editions. They also appreciated the cooperation of participating institutions and the support from stakeholders.
As the curtains close on this year’s festivals, attention now turns to future competitions, with hopes of expanding participation and raising the standards even higher. The successful conclusion of the event reaffirms the role of arts in enriching the TVET education experience.
