The bursary distribution exercise in Westlands constituency concluded on Wednesday 25th March, bringing relief to hundreds of residents struggling with education costs.The program, funded through the constituency development fund, targeted parents and students in need of financial support. Area Member of Parliament Tim Wanyonyi spearheaded the initiative and used the occasion to announce his bid for the Bungoma gubernatorial seat.
Wanyonyi underscored the importance of education in empowering communities and improving livelihoods. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, noting that the bursaries had eased the burden of school fees and given students renewed opportunities to continue their studies.
While some residents praised Wanyonyi’s track record and urged Bungoma voters to consider his service delivery record, others appealed to him not to leave Westlands, citing his positive impact in the constituency.The distribution exercise concluded in Karura Ward, marking the successful end of the program that sought to enhance access to education across Westlands.
