Deputy governor for kisii county Robert Monda was impeached by members of the county assembly over the allegations of abusing the office and claims of corruption cases.
Monda was impeached on Thursday Evening after 53 members of county assembly voted him out, where by 15 members opposed the impeachment motion. the impeached DG failed to address the press as Ichuni MCA Wycliffe Siocha accusing him for the oversight he took an oath to protect.
During his appearance before the county assembly on Thursday morning Monda denied claims on corruption cases he was accused of.
On matters dealing with illegal use of government’s resources, the county government of Bungoma has been named by the controller of budget for being among the counties operating accounts in commercial banks illegally.
Bungoma has been mentioned to run 321 accounts illegally, migori running 280 accounts while kwale county running 265 illegal account.
A total of 45 counties have now breeched the law by operating a total of 1,439 commercial banks illegally, the law requires them to hold their cash at the central bank of Kenya
